My Thoughts About Teaching and Learning
Learning can be considered as change that is permanent in nature because change is brought into students by a teacher through techniques like developing specific skills, changing some attitudes, or understanding specific scientific law operating behind a learning environment. Moreover, students want their instructor to be cooperative and humorous who would teach clearly and usually use relevant examples so that the course material being taught becomes easy to understand, which I think is increasingly being required in classrooms today.
Teaching and learning process can be defined as a transformation process of knowledge from teachers to students. The research findings will enable the educators to help create and implement an inclusive teaching and learning environment to improve the learner's expectation and academic performance
As a teacher my teaching philosophy consists of many beliefs about teaching and learning:
First, as a science teacher, I believe that maintaining a high level of motivation in classroom is one of the best ways to make the whole process more efficient. Motivation is one of the keys to successful learning, teachers play an important role in helping the learners sustain and build on their motivation.
Second, I believe that getting to truly know your students and learning about their backgrounds can help us find the most relevant lesson ideas. This is achieved by Creating teaching strategies that help build students ‘confidence. Creative teaching involves showing the students how the lesson content relates to their own lives and the real world. This can help them develop a greater sense of purpose.
Third, in my opinion science tasks should be challenging yet achievable for students If a task is not challenging enough for students they feel that they are not progressing. Consequently, they could become bored and lose interest in the lesson. On the other hand, when tasks are too challenging, students may become frustrated.
Finally, I believe it is extremely important to build a positive atmosphere in the classroom. Supportive and relaxed environment gives students more opportunities to learn because if students feel anxious about contributing to class discussions, their acquisition of a new objectives will be reduced. I try to achieve this by encouraging learners and providing them with a lot of positive feedback. I also try to personalize every lesson idea and design pair and group activities rather than whole class discussions.
